Position Summary (Effective 1/02/2011)
Process non-complex, non-technical claim related activities within established quality, productivity and process standards on specific losses as directed by management or claim adjuster. Handles a single line of claims or a combination of claims from different segments, typically non-complex Auto and Property claims.
Key Responsibilities
Contact or receive contact from customers, claimants, insurance carriers, vendors, medical providers, attorneys and others to obtain and/or provide necessary file information as directed to comply with quality and process standards
Input data and information of a standard/routine nature into specialized systems while achieving productivity standards; including First Notice of Loss and any required documentation to complete, maintain, or settle a claim file
Process non-complex tasks related to non-technical claims
Maintain positive customer relationships in all dealings with the public and fellow employees
Follow-up on various control lists and tasks as directed to ensure all required quality, process and productivity standards are achieved
Participate in demonstrating work processes to less experienced peers
Participate in formal and informal training sessions

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience
Good Organization Skills with timely follow-up skills.
Good Oral and Written Communication Skills
Knowledge of Excel and Word
Performs routine tasks of basic complexity under general supervision
Activities are of basic complexity, requiring some independent judgment, performed under direct supervision, using procedures standard to the organization
High School Diploma or equivalent with previous experience in either customer service and/or a professional work environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
